JU87 Stuka - Click to expandThe ROYAL AIR FORCE at Hendon displays in three halls over 70 aircraft representing 100 years of aviation. The museum graphically depicts the contribution made by the RAF from early balloon flights to the latest Eurofighter.

The main hall displays aircraft from the First World War and an interactive gallery, housing a Lancaster - Click to expand collection of fun and flight experiences - sit in an aircraft cockpit, drop relief supplies to an isolated village, learn how a helicopter stays in the air or try one's hand at what is required to fly fast jets. The Battle of Britain Hall focuses on the epic struggle of 1940 with a unique collection of British, German and Italian aircraft, film footage, audio and special lighting effects. The Bomber Command Hall houses a magnificent collection of bombers from the First and Second World Wars through to the Cold War.
