Madame Tussaud
MADAME TUSSAUD arrived in
London in 1802 bearing the sculpted heads of aristocrats executed by guillotine
in front of baying crowds. She fled from France to avoid the fate of her uncle
who had not been so lucky.
The wax museum includes a constantly changing cast of
famous and notorious personalities, past and present. The Chamber of Horrors is
the most popular section. It includes a reconstruction of one of Jack the
Ripper's mutilated victims and models of other infamous serial killers.
The visit ends with a hectic 'taxi ride' through a tableau of London's history. Website: www.madame-tussauds.com Nearby attractions: London Zoo Tube Station: Baker Street |
